New Vintage Guitars
By Daniel Slaman Guitars New Vintage finish
The New Vintage finish is traditional nitro-cellulose lacquer. Applied to your preference in vintage patina; Stage 1. The 'Under-the-Bed' finish. The look of an old but never played guitar, The nickel or gold parts are still shiny, the finish is not damaged but shows signs of age; shrunken into the pores, showing the wood grain, not mirror polished like new guitars.  Stage 2. the " Betty-Lite" finish. This is the Under-the-Bed finish with some signs of wear and tear; some worn lacquer spots on the neck, the occasional ding and scratch, a nice patina on the tailpiece and tuners. Stage 3. The "Black Betty" finish. Here we have considerable wear, much lacquer on the neck is gone, as on some places on the body such as where the arm rests, many dings and scratches that will give a well used look and vibe.
